Team of with a group of professionals (or semi professionals depending on your budget).  Your team should consist of someone who helps you with business advise such as an attorney, CPA/accountant, and/or a marketing professional.  Additionally, a copy editor is essential.  You might be able to locate a university in your area that offers a writing program and find a student who is qualified to edit your manuscript.  This same process applies to possibly finding a graphics person for your cover art and also your company needs such as a business card or even a website.  Think out of the box.
Decide on how you wish to be self-published.  Outlined above are the popular options available to any self-publisher.  There are vanity presses, PODs, zero-cost self-publishing, fee-based self-publishing, and the true do-it-yourself approach of becoming your own publisher.  All options offer pros and cons. Based on your overall business plan and financial projections, decide which route makes sense for you.
Submit your manuscript for printing and consult your marketing plan for steps that you can be completing while your book is being printed.  See if you're able to receive advance copies for reviews and additional marketing efforts.  Plan to attend writer's conferences and book conferences where, in essence, your printed book can be used as a business card and you can attend writing seminars conducted by high profile writers who just may help you get published if they like your book.  The power of networking should never be underestimated.
